Where are you from?

I was born in Massachusetts. Grew up in Nebraska. Lived in Colorado. And now reside in Texas.

 

How long have you been writing?

There was a writing contest in 6th grade. I wrote a story about two cousins who get lost in a cave. I won a Nebraska Young Author's award for that book. I've written in one form or another since then with lyrics (lots of songs), screenplays, poems, and short stories. But I didn't start writing a novel until 2015.

 

What are some of your favorite things?

The colors: green, yellow, and gray. Autumn, comfy clothing, trees, reading—and better yet, reading underneath a tree in the fall in comfy clothes. And also pizza with ranch dressing, guacamole, and bendy cookies—but not together. Watching movies and making them. Playing the ukulele and writing songs. Long talks with my deep-thinking husband and enjoying time with our daughter.
